Evelyn brings a listening ear, practical comfort, and respect for each family’s choices to her work at Nueva Vida Doula. Fluent in English and Spanish and a graduate of Nueva Vida’s doula training program, she helps families feel heard, supported, and less alone as they prepare to welcome a baby.

Evelyn’s experience with pregnancy, birth, and becoming a mother showed her how much it can mean to have a calm, compassionate person beside you during a vulnerable time. That experience inspired her to become a doula.
She believes families deserve to feel listened to without judgment, informed about their options, and supported in making choices that are right for them. As a Nueva Vida training graduate, Evelyn brings that approach to her work with growing families in Humboldt County.

Born and raised in Humboldt County, Evelyn values the many cultures and family traditions that make this community home. She has experience supporting local Mexican and Hispanic families and speaks fluent Spanish.
Her partner and son are Yurok, a connection that has deepened her interest in learning from Native families. Evelyn approaches each family with respect and listens to how they want their own customs and knowledge honored during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Outside of work, Evelyn loves being outdoors with her son and spending time with her sisters and large family. You might find them at a Humboldt beach or park, exploring together.
